For most families, the holiday season is when they spend quality time together, exchange gifts, and make beautiful memories.
For the families of seriously ill and injured children, and premature infants, staying at the Ronald McDonald House Canberra, they just want to stay close to their child in hospital.
On average, it costs $132 to support a family's stay at our House for one night. A donation of $150 will help us offer a family a night of staying close to their sick kid in hospital, along with support for the holiday season.
This Christmas, will you help us raise 100 nights of accommodation with food and gifts to provide a home-away-from-home for sick kids and their families? Every little bit counts!

Instead of a financial donation, I wish to make an in-kind donation. What items can I donate this holiday season?
We encourage and accept donations of non-perishable food items, long-life groceries, hygiene and personal use items, as well as donations of gifts and toys that we can provide to families and their children during the holidays.
Please contact our team on events.canberra@rmhc.org.au to receive an up-to-date Holiday Wishlist of items we most need.
This list is updated on an ongoing basis depending on demands in the House being met, and to avoid an overflow of one type of donation.
When and where can I drop off food/gift/grocery donations to Ronald McDonald House Canberra?
Our House is open 24/7 to support families with seriously ill children and premature infants. You can drop off (or facilitate online delivery of) in-kind donations at any time over the holidays and beyond to:

We recommend ringing us on 6281 5894 before making an in-kind donation to check suitability of items for the families staying in the House.

Yes, all financial donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

How does my donation help families or sick kids in need?
All donations will go towards Ronald McDonald House Charities ACT & SE NSW Programs that support families with seriously ill and injured children, and premature infants.
We offer accommodation, food and respite to families while their child is undergoing treatment in hospital at our Ronald McDonald House Canberra, especially those who live at least a 100kms away from the hospital.
Our Ronald McDonald Family Room in Canberra and Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Batemans Bay also a space to relax and recharge, supporting wellness and family-centered care for children battling illness or injury.
